Our 7-Step Process | Timeline: Approximately 3 Weeks
1. Intake Form Completion
- Upon purchase of the First Engagement Session, you will be sent a comprehensive guide that will walk you through our process. The first step is the Intake Form.
- The questions on the form will span from basic logistics to more in-depth, quantitative and qualitative questions about what your business operates.
- Submit your answers to the Intake Form to assist us in getting to know your business. The form is designed to highlight the areas that our team will focus on during the preliminary research and our 3-hour meeting session.
2. Preliminary Research & Analysis
- To kick off our preliminary research, we like to anchor ourselves by doing a cursory review of your industry. Where are you in your market and who are similar key players? What are your competitors doing that you're not? While we don't want to overwhelm you here, these are just a couple of the questions that we set out to answer through industry analysis.
- Once we're familiar enough with your industry, we'll move to reviewing your current marketing and sales tactics. We'll identify any gaps in your process, where you appear to be strongest, and where you need to mitigate any weaknesses. We'll also analyze how your tactics are performing based on your average conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and sales cycle metrics.

3. Your 3-Hour First Engagement Session
- The mid-point of the First Engagement Session starts when we begin our initial consulting meeting. In this 3-hour deep dive, we'll take a holistic exploration of every aspect of your business that impacts your ability to grow revenue, including marketing tactics, sales pipelines, fulfillment timelines, and sales ops. Your goal throughout this meeting is to make sure we have everything we need to completely understand your business and its revenue streams.
- During this meeting our aim will be to identify where your growth bottlenecks are. We'll do so by asking targeted questions meant to highlight your current processes and performance metrics.
- This meeting is the cornerstone of our initial consulting process. It provides invaluable insights to our team that will help us build the foundations of your soon-to-be delivered proposed growth plan.
4. Comprehensive Post-Meeting Research
- When we wrap the First Engagement Session's initial consulting meeting, our research phase begins. We will perform an in-depth analysis of all the information gathered before and during the initial consulting meeting. Those data sources, paired with more targeted research and data pulled from different software tools, flows together to guide our Comprehensive Post-Meeting Research.
- This research phase is made up of a collection of internal research sessions that will focus on fully understanding your current processes and how you compare to key players in your industry.
- While our research varies from client to client, it tends to focus on sales activities, lead generation, awareness-focused actions, conversion optimization, your digital presence, and sales ops. Please note, this is a not a comprehensive list, but a reflection of the areas that are often essential to this phase.
5. Proposal Development & Submission
- The next 3 steps of the First Engagement Session process focus on turning all our research into an iron-clad, actionable plan of attack. This plan will be what will be proposed as your bespoke consulting proposal. All of the research and insights that we have gathered throughout this project will be distilled into the resulting document. Completion of both research and plan proposal takes approximately 2 weeks, though this varies depending on a case by case basis.
- The proposal document will be made up of the following sections: Executive Summary, Introduction, Objectives, Research Findings, Meeting Recap, Formal Recommendations, Scope of Work, Investment Milestones, Expected Outcomes, and Terms & Conditions.
- Once the plan proposal documentation is complete, we will schedule a Proposal Review meeting within our normal meeting time slots. Length of these meetings typically range from 1 to 2 hours.
6. Proposal Review & Acceptance
- The Proposal Review is built to create an open dialogue focused on you and your team fully understanding the compiled research, analysis, and Formal Recommendations.
- It's important to note that while the end result of the First Engagement Session is a consulting project proposal, you are under no obligation to accept the proposal. We are more than happy to deliver these insights to your team to implement themselves.
- For businesses that lack the expertise to implement themselves, this is where we will discuss the details of a consulting project led by the Davidson Ventures team.
- If moving forward with the proposed project is right for your business please review the scope and investment milestones carefully. If you see any needed adjustments to the proposed plan and scope, now is the time to communicate those thoughts. Once we have started the implementing the Formal Recommendations from the plan, any client-requested additions will result in an increase in scope and billings. If all parties are happy with the the plan, and any needed adjustments, than we will distrubte an agreement for signatures.
7. Project Kick-Off
- Once pen hits paper, we're in business to grow your business. The Project Kick-Off step starts with a Kick-Off meeting that outlines our plan of attack. Our priorities will be broken up into two categories: Quick Wins and Formal Recommendation action items.
- Quick Wins are the small-but-mighty tweaks we can help you make in the short-term that will give your business an immediate impact. While they may not resulting in huge long-term growth generators, these items are quickly implemented for a noticeable lift in revenue.
- Formal Recommendation action items will be where the bulk of our attention will reside for the majority of our working relationship. Delivered to you through our team's efforts through the First Engagement Session package, this scope of work will have the greatest impact on your revenue and your bottom line. Our team will be waiting on standby to receive your answers. Once we do, we will schedule the 3-Hour First Engagement Session and begin our preliminary research and analysis. After the meeting, you should expect to receive our proposed plan within 2-weeks of our meeting date.
Question: What if I have questions or need adjustments to the proposal?
